The winter season runs from November 22, 2024, through April 20, 2025. Opening and closing dates are subject to change based on snow and weather conditions.

Grand Targhee offers various types of tickets for accessing the mountain. For full mountain access, we offer single day and multi-day tickets. Multi-day tickets are available from 2 days up to 7 days. Beginners who only wish to access Shoshone can purchase a Shoshone only ticket. Single day and half day tickets for full mountain access are also available.

If you do not already have a Targhee Card, please add it to your purchase at check out. Then skip the lines and pick up your Targhee Card at any of our Pick Up Boxes. Pick Up Boxes are located opposite the ticket window, near Habitat, and in the Lodging Check In building.

Tickets can also be purchased at the resort. Tickets purchased at the Ticket Window or Activity Center are subject to the window rate.

Shoshone Only Tickets for Beginners

Our beginner terrain has plenty to offer for families and newcomers. The terrain off the Shoshone lift is ideal for sticking to green runs, and you can even buy a Shoshone-only ticket. The Kids Adventure Zone is perfect for kids and “big kids,” with runs designed to improve skills like balance, linking turns, and keeping your eyes forward. If you're looking to boost your park skills, the North Pole Terrain Park is the place to be.

For the best rate, buy your ticket online. Tickets are also available at the resort, but those purchased at the Ticket Window or Activity Center are subject to the window rate.

QUICK NOTES 

  • Our Targhee Card is a reusable RFID card that is necessary to load the chairlift. The $5 cost of the card is not included in the lift ticket price, please add one to your purchase if you don’t already have one. 
  • Mountain access for children 5 and under is free, however they must have a Targhee Card. The cost of the card must be paid separately and can be booked online.  
  • Half Day Access starts at 12:30pm.
  • Eligible discounted tickets must be purchased in person at the Ticket Window or Activity Center. For discounted ticket types and proof of eligibility information, please see details below. 

RFID card reminders: 

  • Place your Targhee card or Season Pass in a pocket by itself. 
  • Make sure your card is not near your phone, keys or wallet. 
  • Only carry one RFID card at a time. 
  • If you have other resort RFID cards, please take your Targhee Card or Season Pass out for scanning.

Note: There is a reprint fee for a lost or forgotten Targhee Card ($5) or Season Pass ($10).

how to book

All tickets are available to book online. If you are a first-time skier or snowboarder, please give us a call, we will be happy to guide you through our lift ticket options.   

Before you start the booking process online or through our reservations team at 307-353-2300 x1, please gather the following information for each guest and email it ahead of time to reservations@grandtarghee.com to expedite the process:

  • First & Last Name
  • Date of Birth

PICK UP INFORMATION

Please visit one of the Pick Up Boxes located opposite the ticket window, near Habitat, and in the Lodging Check -In building with a digital or printed copy of your confirmation QR code. Follow the instructions on the Pick Up Box and enjoy your visit.  

If you already have a Targhee Card from a previous visit and have loaded your lift access to it, you may go straight to the lifts. 

DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS

Eligible discounted tickets must be purchased in person at the Ticket Window or Activity Center.

These tickets have guaranteed availability and cannot be purchased in advance. Please make sure to bring photo ID and proof of eligibility as listed below or valid membership card.

  • Military Discounts: Military member/veteran and spouse are eligible for a discounted rate of 30%. Dependents will pay full price.
  • 5th and 6th Grade Passport: A parent or guardian must be present, and the passport must be shown at the resort in order to receive a lift ticket. For more information see here.
  • Adaptive or Adaptive Companion Lift Tickets: must be purchased in person at the Activity Center.
  • Club Card/Membership/Season Pass Partners/Other Discounts: Reciprocity agreements with other resorts, Ski Patrol & PSIA/AASI discounts, Idaho Ski Resorts, Ski Club discounts, vouchers, etc.

If you are lodging at Grand Targhee, your discounted lift tickets can be purchased at the Front Desk or Activity Center. If purchasing at the Activity Center, please have your lodging confirmation email available. 

MOUNTAIN COLLECTIVE RECIPROCITY RESORT POLICIES

Discounted lift tickets may be purchased at the ticket window. These tickets have guaranteed availability and cannot be purchased in advance. Please make sure to bring a photo ID and proof of eligibility or valid membership card.  

Please note:

  • Not all resort season passes are eligible for the Mountain Collective discount.
  • It is your responsibility check your home mountain resort's season pass benefits to ensure your pass is eligible.
  • We can only honor the discount if your name is in the database provided to us by Mountain Collective, any discrepancies will need to be discussed with your home mountain.
  • Full price tickets purchased in advance online are not eligible for the 50% discount at any time.
  • 50% off tickets do not apply to multi-day tickets, the 50% discount is for single day tickets only.
  • Full price tickets or multi-day tickets purchased online or in person are not eligible for a 50% refund if the ticket has already been used. It is your responsibility to know if you are eligible for a Mountain Collective discount before purchasing a full price or multi-day ticket. 

CANCELLATION POLICY

All lift tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. Lost, stolen, damaged RFID cards will have to be repurchased at the current price. RFID card cost is non-refundable. 

Ticket & Pass fraud policy

All lift-access products offered by Grand Targhee Resort are non-transferable in nature and are valid for the named ticket/passholder only. All Users must have a valid lift-access product on their person and make it available for validation at all times while using the lifts and lift-serviced terrain. Any person attempting to access lifts and lift-serviced terrain without a lift-access product meeting the valid criteria is committing invalid use and may be subject to fines or legal action. 

 

Invalid Use 

  • Attempting to use the lifts or lift-serviced terrain without having purchased a lift-access product.  

  • Presenting a ticket/pass that does not belong to the user (fraudulent use). 

    • Mountain Collective passes are also non-transferable and may only be used by the named passholder.

  • Knowingly presenting an invalid ticket/pass in an attempt to gain lift access.  

  • Other invalid uses determined to be intentional by Grand Targhee personnel.  

 

Fraudulent Use 

If a ticket or pass is suspected of being presented by someone other than the named ticket or passholder, it will be considered "Fraudulent Use." Once fraudulent use is suspected, Grand Targhee personnel will make a reasonable attempt to recover the media. 

The named ticket or passholder is responsible for securing their ticket or pass in a way that would prevent fraudulent use by others. 

Tickets or passes involved in fraudulent use will be subject to a reactivation fee of $250 + the cost of services fraudulently received.  

If Grand Targhee is unable to recover the reactivation fee from the person committing fraudulent use, it will become the responsibility of the named ticket or passholder. The named ticket or passholder will not be permitted to purchase any additional lift-access products until the fee is paid. 

If a passholder is involved with fraudulent use more than once, they will not be eligible for reactivation and will not be permitted to purchase lift-access products indefinitely.

Where do I get my Targhee Card?

Please visit one of the Pick Up Boxes located opposite the ticket window, near Habitat, and in the Lodging Check-In building with a digital or printed copy of your confirmation QR code. Follow the instructions on the Pick Up Box and enjoy your visit.  

Your QR code is in your order confirmation email. Please remember that wifi can be spotty at the resort, please take a screen shot or print your email prior to arrival. 

If you already have a Targhee Card from a previous visit and have loaded your lift access to it, you may go straight to the lifts.

How do I reload my TARGHEE Card?

You can reload* your Targhee Card here.

*Please use the same email address you provided when you purchased your original ticket. If you did not provide an email address when you purchased at the Activity Center or Ticket Booth you will not be able to reload your ticket online. If you have forgotten your password, please reset it, do not create a new account. 

How do I purchase pass media?

You will be prompted to add the Targhee Card to your purchase. If you misplace or forget your media, you will need to visit the Ticket Booth or Activity Center to purchase a new RFID card for $5. 

How do I use the Pick Up Boxes?

Make sure you have your QR code handy on your mobile device. Scan your QR code and just like a candy bar from a vending machine, your card will appear for you to enjoy. If you have any trouble, please visit the Ticket Booth or Activity Center for help. 

Do I need to wait in line if I purchased a lift ticket online?

You sure don't! We have four conveniently placed Pick Up Boxes, so you don't have to wait in line if you are picking up your Targhee Card for the first time. If you already have a Targhee Card and reloaded it online, you can head straight to the lifts.  

Make sure you have your QR code from your confirmation email, then follow instructions on the Pick Up Box.

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE LIFT TICKETS IN ADVANCE?

To get the best price, it is recommended you purchase in advance. Advance purchases also get you to the lift faster. You can pick up your targhee card at one of our Pick Up Boxes instead of having to wait in line.

Select discounted tickets cannot be purchased in advance, these include:

  • Military Discounts
  • Ski Idaho 5th and 6th Grade Passport
  • Adaptive or Adaptive Companion Lift Tickets
  • Club Card/Membership/Season Pass Partners/Other Discounts
  • Mountain Collective Reciprocity Resort Tickets 

DO I NEED TO PRESENT ANYTHING WHEN PICKING UP MY ADVANCE PURCHASED TICKETS?

If redeeming your advance purchase at the Ticket Booth or Activity Center, a confirmation email as well as a photo ID must be presented. Tickets will not be issued without both points of verification.

If redeeming at the Pick Up Box, please have your confirmation email accessible and follow instructions on the machine to print your ticket.

DO I HAVE TO PRE-PURCHASE A TICKET TO ACCESS THE NORDIC Trail system?

You must have a ticket to access the Nordic trails, fat biking, and snowshoe trails. Tickets cannot be purchased in advance. Please visit the Activity Center or Ticket Booth to purchase. 

Failure to have a valid ticket can result in removal from the property. 

How do i purchase my discounted lodging lift tickets?

You can purchase your discounted lodging lift tickets at the Front Desk when you check in or Activity Center. If purchasing in the Activity Center, please have your lodging confirmation email available.

ARE LIFT TICKETS TRANSFERABLE?

No, lift tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. 

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF THE TICKET WINDOW?

Open 7 days a week from 8:00am – 1:00pm during winter operations.

WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF THE ACTIVITY CENTER?

Open 7 days a week from 8:00am – 5:00pm during winter operations.

CAN I CHANGE THE DATE OF A PRE-PURCHASED TICKET?

If you need to change the date of use on your lift tickets for any reason, you are granted a 72-hour period after the intended use date to contact Grand Targhee Resort. Any unused tickets will be forfeited in full after 72 hours of the intended visit date. LIFT TICKETS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.

For example, suppose you purchased tickets and intended to visit Grand Targhee Resort on January 10th. In that case, you have until January 13th (72 hours after the intended use date) to contact GTR to move those tickets.

Grand Targhee Resort is closed, thanks for a great summer! We reopen for winter operations on Friday, November 22. Think snow!
