The Balsamroots: Live @ at The Trap
The Balsamroots, an all-female bluegrass, Americana and old-time band, are a combination of strong lead and harmony vocals and a steady rhythm guitar by Mary Neil; sultry lead vocals and sweet harmonies highlighted with a rootsy fiddle sound by Becky Hendricks; and Sage Hibbert strumming a clawhammer banjo that rolls like a babbling brook. All this is held down by the steady beat of Molly Houkom's upright bass.
The group came together in 2018 after an all-female gathering of Jackson Hole musicians where each were playing in separate groups. They realized their geographic convenience as well as the perfect arrangement of instrumentation and love of American roots music and started jamming regularly.
Since then, the group has seen rising popularity across Teton Valley, Idaho and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
